Solar energy is clean energy; but whether that is true depends on the entire life cycle from panel production to recycling. At Heliora we measure and disclose this chain.
2025 impact indicators
- Energy generated by installed plants: about 590 GWh
- Avoided emissions: 265,000 tonnes of CO₂ (using a grid emission factor of 0.45 kg/kWh)
- Module carbon footprint: 480 kg CO₂e/kWp (30% below the European average)
- Energy payback time: 1.1 years
- Share of factory electricity covered by the rooftop PV: 38%
Responsibility in production
Water recovery in production is at 85%. Lead-free solder and halogen-free cables are used. Cell breakage, scrap glass and aluminum frame waste are separated and recovered.
Recycling
We run a recycling partnership that takes back end-of-life Heliora modules and separates them into glass, aluminum, copper and silicon fractions. 92% of module weight can be reused.
